Building and maintaining your brand

A brand cannot be built overnight, it requires a process of active and controlled exposure. The product or service itself will dictate whether the brand is good or bad, and one person's good brand, is another's bad brand. Fast food brands are a perfect example of this. A good brand will evolve at a pace that keeps it at the forefront of your target market's expectation.

The steps required in building a brand include:

Designing and developing a strong visual identity

This will be determined by the product, its market position, and the target market. Our graphic design and copy writing expertise will create a brand logo, and a brand identity usage guide that will ensure a high level of consistency across all visual media.

Constant and repeated exposure to the target market

Ensure that all advertising carries a consistent message, and has a similar look and feel to build user recognition. Our advertising experience will deliver the right message about your product, based on its advantages over that of your competition.

Ongoing product or service development

Your product or service must keep pace with market conditions. A thorough understanding of your competition and your target market demands time and effort. Trade shows and expos are a good way of gaining information about your target market and your competition. The promotional aspect of your business must be flexible to take advantage of new opportunities.

If all of this seems difficult, it need not be. We can set you up with a brand image and offer you ongoing advice that will make this easier for you. The success or failure of a brand is ultimately in your hands. If you are confident that your product or service is marketable, then you already have the most important ingredient.

Case study- Mead & Martin Limited

Mead and Martin Limited

Mead & Martin Limited are a well established company that manufactures moulded timber products for the building sector. In the past they have used various local suppliers for their advertising and corporate stationery needs, resulting in no clear brand identity.

The company recently identified new national marketing opportunities which require a strong brand identity and a marketing plan to capitalise on.

Archetype Creative Limited spent time discussing their business operation, and the new opportunities, and formulated a step by step plan.

The plan included:

  • Design a new logo and corporate stationery, and create rules that maintain brand consistency.
  • Develop a website that is simple, informative, and invites direct contact from target markets.
  • Write and produce targeted mailouts for architects, builders, and builders merchants.
  • Produce point of sales displays and info packs.

Archetype Creative Limited produced all the material, including the photography, graphic design, copywritng and web development.
